Anyone here own a lube with car wash business?

I've been looking into businesses for sale lately, and I've noticed a lot of quick lube shops that also have attached car washes. Seems like the perfect combo since oil changes bring people in, and the wash adds another source of income. People don't like dealers doing their change of oil because it's too overpriced so I guess this is just sustainable.

I'm curious tho if anyone here actually owns or has owned one of these setups? Are they as good in practice as they look on paper? Pros and cons?

Appreciate any insight.

Smart, oil changes bring people in regularly, and the car wash is an easy upsell. Sorry I don't own one, but as a long time business strategist, you are onto something here. The pros are steady business and multiple income streams, but the cons are the upkeep, especially for the car wash equipment, and making sure you have reliable staff. It looks great on paper, and with good management, it can be in practice too.

You'd basically be running 2 businesses, so you'll deal with more equipment, maintenance and staffing. Weather can hit wash profits too. If you've got a good location and manage it well, you'd go far and it can definitely be a pretty solid and sustainable business. Had an uncle that had the same idea and operated the exact same thing. He did well.
